Did you know?
When playing Pétanque you do not take turns to throw. You only throw your boule when your opponent has a boule closer to the jack (coche) than you do.
Playing Pétanque
Pétanque is, perhaps, the only sport where age and gender has no bearing on the quality of the game. It is a very simple game to learn but also a very technical game. Everyone can succeed to some level. You are welcome to bring family and friends to see what a wonderful inclusive sport this is. Our players come from across West Parley, Ferndown, Bournemouth, Poole and even Hampshire.

On your first visits our members will be happy to help you understand the game and learn the skills necessary to enjoy it at all levels. We have a qualified club coach available to support you when things are not going quite according to plan and for the most ambitious you can join us and take part in local, regional or national competitions.
Juniors
"Juniors (under 17s) are especially welcome at Parley"

Juniors who join Parley Pétanque Club are automatically accepted into the Southern Pétanque Association and then eligible to play in local, regional and national competitions.

In 2018 one of our juniors won the English Junior Singles title and was later promoted to the English Junior International Squad. Sally also plays regularly in league matches for Parley.
Everyone playing at Parley has the opportunity to go as far as they want.
All Parley coaches and volunteers working with juniors have enhanced DBS clearance and work to the highest standards. Our policies can be found under member's info.
